Lodestone Energy set out to deliver the largest solar project Aotearoa has seen by 2025. Capitalising quickly on its first mover advantage, Lodestone became the first New Zealand generation company to reach financial close on three generation plants in a single year. In just two years, it built its first two utility-scale solar farms – Kaitaia and Edgecumbe with the third due for completion by the end of 2024. They are now looking to progress a number of other utility scale solar sites across the country. Lodestone is ambitiously trailblazing a new sector to deliver a low-cost, high-efficiency energy solution that is helping reduce carbon emissions by providing easier access to more affordable renewable energy.
