The Kāinga Ora solar programme is saving households between $350 and $1,000 a year. The programme deploys a range of technologies on over 630 homes nationwide and has introduced Allume SolShare system to New Zealand to simplify the sharing of solar power within apartments. The trial has also gained an exemption from regulators to trial a groundbreaking multiple-trading relationship in the electricity market – a model which could be drawn on by other players.
