Fabian Hanik, Assistant Plant Manager at Top Energy’s Ngawha Generation, led the company’s efforts to convert the operation from being the country’s highest emitting geothermal power station to nil emissions.
Reinjection not only saves the equivalent of 128,000 tonnes of CO2 annually, but it has also secured a future for Ngawha, with ongoing benefits to Far North consumers from improved supply security, and lower transmission and distribution costs.
