Contact – Skin Health Programme Saving Lives at Contact

2024

Contact Energy’s skin health programme has likely saved six lives by detecting early-stage melanomas among employees, along with a large number of previously undiagnosed non-melanoma cancers, many of which have required extensive surgeries to remove. Initially for outdoor workers, the programme now includes all 1,200 staff, offering free skin checks and education on skin cancer prevention. Partnering with Skin Aware, Contact provides on-site screenings, personal monitoring tools, and comprehensive support for those diagnosed. This initiative underscores Contact's commitment to employee well-being and sets a high standard for workplace health programmes in New Zealand.
