Contact is using technology to give customers the tools to shift demand, save money, and help reduce the need for thermal generation to meet peak-period demand. More than a quarter of its residential customers are on a time-of-use plan and the Good Weekends plan launched in November is its fastest growing so far. Hot Water Sorter - launched in April – is on target to provide 10 megawatts of load-shifting - one of the first and largest retailer-led hot water control programmes in the country.
