Protecting staff, improving network performance and future-proofing Invercargill's CBD power supply was at the heart of PowerNet's project relocating ageing, underground CBD substations and link boxes aboveground. It's playing a critical role in helping Invercargill regain its place as a regional powerhouse. The $9.2m project - a 15-20 year programme compressed into 3 years - not only creates a safer working environment for staff, it also represents a major step forward in establishing the modern infrastructure needed for planned inner-city developments. The success of the project is a beacon for PowerNet's 'Safety Always' focus and is attracting interest from fellow lines companies.
